When can I start learning to drive?
You need to be at the legal minimum age of 17 (16 if you are disabled and receiving mobility allowance) and have a Provisional Driving Licence. How do I obtain a Provisional Driving Licence?
You should complete a D1 form, obtainable from Post Offices, or you can apply online.
What is the Theory Test?
The Theory Test for car drivers and motorcyclists was introduced by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) in 1996 and designed to improve safety for newly qualified drivers. How many Driving Lessons will I need?
Every learner has a different ability so this can vary from pupil to pupil. The DSA recommend 45 hours of tuition with an instructor plus 22 hours private practice.
